Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. We had 2 very relaxing days at Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya. The room was large, the Futons were extraordinary comfortable. The food was amazing. The 3 private Onsen rooms are awesome. Thank you. We will come back.

Excellent room with comfortable blankets which were perfect for the winter cold. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, giving great advice regarding transport and offering a shuttle service for 1500 yen per person for both ways. The location is a little out the way, but you'll probably be staying here for the tranquility rather than what it offers nearby. In terms of the food, both the dinner and breakfast were great. The dinner offered sukiraki beef with tofu and vegetable tempura. There was plenty to eat and enough for a big eater like myself to feel full. Breakfast was similarly well made with enough to feel like lunch should be a bit later then usual. There was also complimentary snacks, tea, coffee as well as a small setup with a mini PS1 and famicom. We didn't end up using that, but it was nice that it was there. The area around is quiet, with a bit more time I think the rental bikes would have allowed us to go further afield but its winter and it's cold. We walked about around the area, had some really nice views of takasaki especially in the evening as the lights of the city come on. Beds provided were exceptional. The duvet cover was smooth on the skin and the duvet was extremely fluffy. Perfect for winter. Bathroom was clean, well maintained with good water temperature and excellent water pressure. Oh, and the koi in the pond were spectacular.

Really amazing location and excellent staff who went above and beyond making us feel welcome. I booked private onsen in room and it was perfect. The food is delicious as well.

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso ligger 36 km fra Ishidan-gai-trappen og tilbyder 4-stjernet indkvartering i Nakanojo samt udendørs bad. AMAZING. If I could, I'd stay there at least once a week every month :") no wonder it was one of the references for the movie Spirited Away. The staff is really kind and understand English kinda well, even though the place is huge, they give you a map to find your room and how to find yourself in the complex building. We stayed in the Mori Room and it was definitely beyond our expectations. The room was so big, it felt like you were actually booking a spacious apartment to stay rather than only a room. Also, there were local snacks replaced daily and selected beverages at our disposal in the room, all for free. The view was incredible, especially when bathing in the private onsen in the room. They had sliding doors to cover the glass walls, so it wasn't too bright in the morning, unlike what many people complain when staying at a ryokan. And of course, the spotlight of our stay: They place you on a PRIVATE ROOM for the meals, with a relaxing ambient sound and a view of their garden while serving you a whole course of Japanese meal on the fancy side.

Houshi Onsen Chojukan ligger langs Houshi-floden og byder på offentlig varm kilde, indkvartering i japansk stil med gratis trådløs internetadgang og japansk køkken. This place is just on the top of my ranking. A real Japanese experience with all the necessary detail to make the stay unforgettable. The different baths super clean and with history. The meals offered were delightful. And the environment just as needed, calm, serene and peaceful.

Oyado Tamaki har indendørs/udendørs varme kilder og en traditionel have med bænke, hvor gæsterne kan sidde og slappe af. The property is near public transportation, which is a big plus for a solo traveller without a car. I took a room with a private onsen, which was really enjoyable. The dinner and breakfast were all excellent. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I really felt warm-hearted when they tried to explain the dinner menu in english and did a handwritten english translation of the breakfast menu. They also offered to drop me off at the bus station and reminded me when to expect the bus. It was incredibly sweet. I do love the area as it was a good break from the city’s hustle and bustle. The Ikaho footsteps is about a 5-minute walk. It has a lot of shops so it is a good distraction while climbing the stairs.

Hotellet Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku er indrettet i japansk stil og ligger 10 minutters kørsel fra skisportsstedet Hodaigi. onsen var meget smukke og varme. det føles privat og roligt, selvom der var andre mennesker. Der var flot udsigt til floden fra værelset.

Yamakikan er en ryokan, som ligger i en historisk bygning i Naganohara, 48 km fra Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. Der er udendørs badekar og udsigt til haven. Ejendommen blev bygget i det 17. Service was impeccable, beautiful location, quiet. Perfect!
